An Introduction to Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7  
(IT for the terrified or the reluctant!!)

This course was renamed IT for the terrified or the reluctant, by a satisfied customer.  If you are new to using a computer – this is the perfect course for you. This one-day course will give you a brilliant introduction to using the computer comfortably.

By booking your training with us you will be helping to support and develop a sustainable, not for profit IT resource within the Communities First area, encouraging more community engagement and raising awareness of other development opportunities and leisure time activities locally.

 Prior Knowledge: No previous knowledge of Windows is needed.

Aims and Objectives

By the end of the course, you will be able to understand and work with the following:

  • What is Windows? You will understand exactly what Windows is
  • Using the mouse - When do I Click, when do I Double Click?
  • The Windows Desktop
  • The Taskbar &  Start Button 
  • My Computer
  • The Recycle Bin
  • Managing your Windows 
  • Creating a Word document
  • Understanding drives
  • Creating, saving and finding files
  • Understanding and organising files and folders
  • Creating a new folder moving/copying a file or folder to network drives or pen drives
  • Renaming a file or folder
  • Deleting a file or folder
  • Finding your files if all else fails!
  • Putting shortcuts on the Desktop
  • Using Help
