Microsoft Visio Introduction

This one day course will show you how to produce plans and charts with Visio. This course covers the essentials of using Visio and uses practical hands on exercises designed to build your skills and confidence when creating a range of technical diagrams Recommended for Staff who wish to enhance their projects and reports with maps, diagrams, plans or organisation charts.

Prerequisites: Experience of working within the Windows environment

Aims and Objectives: At the end of the training the delegate will be able to successfully:

• Define Visio`s capabilities
• Understand the Visio Screen
• Navigating around Visio documents
• Use stencils
• Use templates and documents

• VISIO ESSENTIALS
• Create a drawing
• Use the size and position window
• Use the connector tool
• Using pan and zoom

• WORK WITH SHAPES
• Select and duplicate shapes
• Resize shapes
• Add text to shapes
• Group and distribute shapes
• Add a background shape

• DRAWING WITH LAYERS
• Rotate, flip and format shapes
• Colour, display and hide layers
• Lock and print layers

• WORK WITH TYPE AND TEXT
• Add text
• Rotate text
• Use borders and titles
• Format text blocks

• WORK WITH COLOUR
• Create text and colour fills
• Add patterns and drop shadows
• Create custom colours

• CREATE AN ORGANISATIONAL CHART
• Use the Chart Data wizard
• Add subordinate and multiple shapes
• Add and edit custom properties 

• CREATE FLOW CHARTS
• Connecting shapes
• Using connectors: routing, line curve and point to point
• Creating page styles Cross-functional flow charts

You will be amazed how much you can learn in one day! Yes, the courses are lively and quite intensive but as a maximum of 9 people attend each course I am able to tailor each course so that everyone attending will benefit fully from the training.
